Enniscrone Beach: Brimming with Coastal Charm

Enniscrone Beach is located on the shores of the spectacular Killala Bay in County Sligo. The beach stretches for an amazing 5 kilometres, offering ample walking opportunities. It is also backed by a series of sand dunes which are teaming with coastal wildlife. To one end of the beach, you will see the ‘Valley of the Diamonds’, a volcano-like formation visible in the in the largest of the dunes.

An ancient tradition practiced for centuries along the West Coast of Ireland, hot seaweed baths have long delivered relaxation and even pain relief to those suffering from a range of chronic health complaints including rheumatism and arthritis.  Bath Houses came to Ireland during the Edwardian era and testament to their one-time popularity was the fact that approximately 300 of them were scattered around the country at the start of the 20th Century. They may not be nearly as widespread today, but they are still appreciated by many for their proven therapeutic qualities.
